Read Surah Mulk Online, the 67th surah of Holy Quran and placed on 29th para number. It consists of 30 verses (ayat) and 2 chapters (ruku). Surah Al-Mulk has 337 words and 1316 letters. Surah Al-Mulk was revealed to Prophet Muhmmad, in Mecca. Like any other Surah in the Quran, Surah Al-Mulk is very important. There are many virtues from reciting this Surah. Surah Mulk is majorly divided into 3 parts in Quran, including creation of Allah Almighty, beauty of nature and day of judgment. This surah means “Kingship”, basically shows the Sovereignty of Allah Almighty. Descent of this surah is in Makkah during the early era of Hazarat Muhammad (S.A.W) while promoting Islam.

Hazarat Abdullah ibn Mas’ud (Allah be pleased with him) reported : “The one who recites Surah Tabarak (Al-Mulk) every night, Allah Almighty will spare him from the torment of the grave; we used to call this Surah Maani’a in the sacred era of the beloved Holy Prophet (peace be upon him, his family and companions).” By reciting Surah Al-Mulk, it protects us, guards us not in this world only but helps us in our next journey. Also protect us from the torment of Grave and make us closer to Allah Almighty. It is written in Tirmidhi shareef that : “Indeed there is a Surah in the Al-Quran of thirty Ayat, which intercedes for a man until he is forgiven. It is [Surah] Tabarak Alladhi Biyadihil-Mulk.” (Abu Dawud, at-Tirmidhi)

Benefits of Surah Mulk Reciting

By reciting Surah Al-Mulk, it protects us, guards us not in this world only but helps us in our next journey. Also protect us from the torment of Grave and make us closer to Allah Almighty. Reciting Surah Al Mulk before going to sleep is a Sunnah. The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) stated “Surah Al Mulk serves as a protector and rescuer, shielding one from the punishment of the grave”. Following are some other benefits of reciting this Surah;

Way to Jannah

Surah Mulk serves as a path to Jannah (Paradise) because it intercedes for its reciter until they are forgiven. As narrated by Abu Hurairah, the Prophet (peace be upon him) said, “There is a Surah in the Quran which contains thirty Ayat, and it will intercede for a person until they are forgiven.” (At-Tirmidhi). Reciting it regularly encourages reflection on Allah’s dominion, guiding us toward good deeds that lead to Jannah.

Protects from Jahannam

Reciting Surah Mulk helps keep one away from Jahannam (Hell). Ibn Abbas narrated that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said, “Surah Mulk is a protector, a rescuer from the punishment of the grave and the fire of Hell.” (At-Tirmidhi). Its recitation is a means of shielding the believer from both worldly and eternal harm, serving as a safeguard against the fire for those who recite it consistently.

• At-Tirmidhi: During a gathering, the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) informed his companions about Surah Mulk’s intercession for a man until he was forgiven.
• Sunan Abu Dawud: A man who regularly recited Surah Mulk was saved from the torment of the grave, as narrated by the Prophet.

Reference in Hadees

• Narrated by Abu Hurairah(R.A) : The Prophet (peace be upon him) mentioned during a sermon that Surah Mulk contains thirty verses, which will continue to intercede until its reciter is forgiven. (Tirmidhi)
• Narrated by Ibn Abbas(R.A) : On an occasion of visiting a graveyard, the Prophet (peace be upon him) remarked that Surah Mulk protects from the punishment of the grave. (Tirmidhi)
